Mise En Scene Analysis! 

Lighting and Colour-

There is a lot of red in this picture. This indicates that this place that they are in is very dangerous. It could also mean that this is a place of love and passion, however, it wouldn't seem that way as the lighting is not dimmed as it would be if there were a couple in there. The red doesn't go right up to the ceiling, this might indicate the level of the danger in this room, so there isn't as much danger as there would be in this room.

Costume-

Both men are wearing black which connotes power, death, mystery and evil. But the older is also wearing white which connotes purity and innocence also cleanliness and safety. this is completely opposite to black so it would seem that his character may be very unsure of his morals however it could indicate that is a very black and white character, meaning that he says things how they are and he does things how he wants to, however the other guy is dressed all in black, meaning that he knows what he wants and what he wants isn't a good thing. The old man is also wearing white gloves, this links back to cleanliness as they are white but also as long as he wears gloves, he won't actually touch anything with his bare hands, leaving no clues behind for the investigators to pick up.

Props-

there is only one prop that i can see in this image and that is a piece of tissue. The tissue is white which as i stated earlier connotes cleanliness, so we get the idea that maybe he's wiping away the blood from his hands. a tissue is also very fragile which could link to his victims and how he treats them.

Facial Expressions-

We can't actually see the old mans face in this picture, this may mean that he's either not an important character or the camera is deliberately getting the audience to focus on the main characters reactions to what the old man is saying to him. The main character seems surprised at the what the other character is saying to him, i think this because if you look closely, you can see that his eyebrows are raised slightly, but he's also smiling which also makes me think that maybe he likes what he's hearing.
